Principal Viola of the Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet

Stas Sagdeyev was born in Odessa. From 1994 studied the violin at the Odessa Stolyarsky Special Music School. Switched to playing the Viola in 2001 (class of Vladimir Malichkin). Stas has been an irreplaceable member of the quartet later known as the Stolyarsky String Quartet since its inception (2001) right until its subtle dissolution in 2007. In 2010 graduated from the Odessa State Nezhdanova Music Academy with a Master degree. From 2001 till 2008 had quartet and solo performances in Switzerland, France, Malta, Kosovo, Russia and Ukraine.

From 2009 till 2011 worked as a violist in the Ukrainian ensemble of music song an dance "Chaika" (the Seagull).
From 2011 till 2014 studied in Switzerland at the Zurich University of the Arts (Zuercher Hochschule der Kuenste) in the class of prof. Christoph Schiller where he graduated with the Master of Arts ZFH in Music Performance diploma. Stas had also been studying sound technology and audio engineering in the class of prof. Andreas Brüll at the ZHdK from 2012 till 2014.
During his studies he was a principal violist at the ZHdK Strings orchestra (managed by prof. Rudolf Koelman).
From 2014 till 2016 worked at the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra (artistic director and principal conductor: Hobart Earle).
Since 2011 Stas has been the principal viola player at the Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra.
In the end of 2016 he received a position of the principal viola in the orchestra of the Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
