Festive concert dedicated to the 175th anniversary of M. Lysenko

The programme includes the fragments from the opera "Taras Bulba" by M. Lysenko and the music of contemporary Ukrainian composers.

Choirmaster - Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, the chief choirmaster of the theatre Leonid Butenko.

Director - Oksana Taranenko.

Conductor - Chief Conductor of the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Viktor Ploskina.

Part 1

Scenes from the opera “Taras Bulba” by Mykola Lysenko:

1. Overture. Performed by the orchestra of the theatre.

2. The praising choir "Glory to our masters, glory!". Performed by the choir the theatre.

3. Taras's song "Hey, Eagle is flying". Performed by People's Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Navrotskiy.

4.  Kobzar’s song «Oh, how long should we obey the masters». Performed by Mykola Subbota, Ivan Flyak and the choir of the theatre.

5. Andriy and Maryltsya 's duet "My evening glow". Performed by Anna Litvinova and Oleksiy Repchinskiy.

6. Ostap’s aria "What have you done?". Performed by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Viktor Mytyushkin.

7. Taras’s ariozo "What is holier in the world?". Performed by People's Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Navrotskiy.

 

8. “Zaporozhska Sich”: Duet of Andriy and Ostap and the finale "The Cossacks are whistling". Performed by Valeriy Regrut, Ivan Flyak and the choir of the theatre.

Part II

1. Georgy Mayboroda. "Hutsul Rhapsody". Performed by the orchestra of the theatre.

2. Olexander Shchetinskiy. Aria of the philosopher (Skovoroda’s monologue). Performed by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Vladislav Goray.

3. Vitaliy Gubarenko. Adagio and the death of Commander from the ballet "The Stone Host". Performed by the orchestra of the theatre.

4. Music and verses by Anatoliy Kos-Anatolskiy. "Oh, I'll go among the mountains". Performed by Anastasia Golub.

5. Music by Anatoliy Kos-Anatolskiy, verses by Ivan Franko. "Oh, girl, a walnut grain". Performed by Harry Ghukasyan.

6. Lev Kolodub. "Ukrainian Carpathian Rhapsody" №1, part IV. Performed by the orchestra of the theatre.
