The performance "Madama Butterfly" is dedicated to the anniversary of Larysa Zuienko

The performance "Madama Butterfly", which will be held today, on December 15, is dedicated to the anniversary of the People's Artist of Ukraine Larysa Zuienko. The singer will perform the main part, which she calls one of her favorite ones, that reveals the feelings of the female soul.

Larysa Zuienko (soprano) graduated from Odessa State Conservatory (now - Odessa National Music Academy) named after Antonina Nezhdanova. She has been working at Odessa Opera House since 1988. She participated in the concerts of Opera Stars in Toronto, in the performances in Austrian Kufstein, in opera festivals in Lviv, Odessa, Qatar, Larnaca and Estonian Kuressaare. The artist was invited twice to the performances of Opera Bastille in Paris: in 1997 - in “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi (the part of Violetta) and in 2000 - in “War and Peace” by Serhii Prokofiev (parts of Natasha Rostova and Duniasha). In 2000-2005 she collaborated with Ellen Kent and Opera International, and toured in England, Scotland, Ireland. She is a professor at the Department of Solo Singing of Odessa National Academy of Music named after Antonina Nezhdanova.

People’s Artists of Ukraine Viktor Mitiushkin (Sharpless) and Vasyl Navrotskyi (The Bonze), Honoured Artist of Ukraine Tetiana Spaska (Suzuki), Taisiia Shafranska (Kate), Oleh Zlakoman (Pinkerton), Valerii Rehrut (Goro), Bohdan Panchenko (Prince Yamadori), Dmytro Sebov (Commissioner), theatre choir and orchestra will also take part in the performance today.

The performance will be held under the baton of the chief conductor of the theatre Viacheslav Chernukho-Volich. The performance will be played in the directorial version by Borys Riabikin.
