Opera, which opens the 210ththeatrical season, will be under the baton of conductor from Lviv Miron Yusipovich

The opera “Aida” by Giuseppe Verdi, which opens the 210th theatrical season in Odessa Opera House on August 1, will be conducted by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Miron Yusipovich, a conductor of Lviv National Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Solomia Krushelnytskaya.

“Aida” and “Nabucco” by G. Verdi, which were staged by Miron Yusipovich at Lviv Opera House, was a great success not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. With these performances Lviv Opera House for the first time had successful tours in Italy (1996), Poland (2000/01), Austria and Germany (2000/01/02). The operas received favourable reports in German press and the conductor was twice awarded the diplomas from the critics of German media.

Miron Yusipovich was invited to be a conductor of Lviv National Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Solomia Krushelnytskaya in 1982. In 1994/95 he was the chief conductor of the theatre and in 1998/2000 he was its artistic director.

From 2002 to 2008MironYusipovich, continuing his work at Lviv Opera House, was the chief conductor of the Ukrainian-Austrian symphony orchestra K & K Philharmoniker; in 2004/08 he was the chief choirmaster of the K & K Opernchor; in 2010/12 - the chief conductor of the Academic Chamber Orchestra " Lviv Virtuosos".

The maestro's repertoire includes more than sixty operas, operettas and ballets, which he conducted in Ukraine and abroad, in particular at Mariinskiy Theatre in St. Petersburg, in Perm, Chisinau, Vladikavkaz, Kiev, Odessa, Bytom, Opole. At Lviv Opera House he staged and resumed the operas “Eugene Onegin”, “Iolanta” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, “Cavaleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni, “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leonkavallo, “The Tsar’s Bride” by Nikolay Rimskiy-Korsakov, “Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi, “ The Magic Flute” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the ballets “Hamlet”, “Francesca da Rimini” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and others.

In the performance “Aida”, which takes place on August 1, the audience will first hear the soloist of Odessa Opera House Aleksey Zhmudenko as Amonasro. The singer is a winner of the V International Vocalists Competition named after Ivan Alchevskiy (I Prize, Kharkov, 2011) and the International Competition-Festival “Golden Stars of Spring” (I Prize, Kiev, 2018). He graduated from Kiev High Music School named after Reinhold Gliere (2003) and National Music Academy of Ukraine named after Peter Tchaikovsky (2008). He was invitedtoOdessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Balletin 2019.

The main part of the opera will be performed by the laureate of international competitions Anna Litvinova, the part of Amneris - by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Tatyana Spasskaya, the Priestess - by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Nataliya Shevchenko. Radames will be embodied by the winner of international competitions Oleg Zlakoman, Ramfis – by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Dmitriy Pavlyuk, Pharaoh – by the winner of international competitions Sergey Uzun, the Messenger –by the winner of international competitions Pavel Smirnov.
