Three soloists to debut in Don Quixote on June 25

Three ballet soloists to debut in the ballet Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus on 25 June.

A participant of the International Ballet Competition World's Young Ballet Stanislav SKRYNNIK dances the role of Basil. His partner in this production is Elena DOBRYANSKAYA as Kitri.

Last month Stanislav SKRYNNIK got acclaim after his debut in the lead part in the ballet Yell (Krik) choreographed by Andrei Merkuriev, Honoured Artist of Russia. The Odessa ballet soloist also performs the lead parts in The Firebird (Ivan Tsarevich), The Mystery of the Vienna Wood (Crown Prince), Paquita (Lucien), The Swan Lake (Prince Siegfried and Benno) and others. He has danced Espada in Don Quixote so far.

One can see a prizewinner of international competitions Ellina POKHODNYKH in the part of Street dancer for the first time. The ballerina has danced the role of the Queen of Dryads in the ballet by Minkus. She also performs the parts of Odette-Odille (The Swan Lake), Princess Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty), Giselle (Giselle), Paquita (Paquita), Gamzatti (La Bayadere), and etc.

Honoured Artist of Ukraine Olga ROZHEVICH appears as one of Kitri's Friends for the first time also. Her repertory included the parts of Air Fairy (The Mystery of the Vienna Wood), Violente and Jewels Fairies (Sleeping Beauty), Chinese dance (Nutcracker), Willis (Giselle), Nymph (Walpurgis Night), the Shades trio (La Bayadre), and other parts and numbers.

Igor TCHERNETSKY is the conductor for the ballet Don Quixote on June 25.

The Don Quixote premiere night in the choreographic cut of the Honoured Artist of Russia Yuri VASYUCHENKO took place at the Odessa Opera in November, 2012.
